REVIEW: Marriage Not Dating 2014

«Can I not order that much?» His wingman at the park cracked me up. Ki Tae was eating chicken for days… I like the double irony in Ki Tae bringing Hoon Dong chicken when there is chicken in his own restaurant and Yeo Reum asking Jang Mi to run his restaurant when she owns a restaurant. I was so frustrated with last week’s episodes, I couldn’t even comment on the last one. But now I’m just going to accept that people can have personality transplants in this drama.

CEO Hong calls Attorney Ho into her office. Then someone Eun-Beom and Ha-Ra know as a mutual friend comes into the office, and Attorney Goo decides to accommodate her as she waits for Attorney Oh. After finishing her meeting, Attorney Oh calls her friend Sang-Eun whom she was supposed to meet and finds her in Attorney Goo’s office. After talking with Attorney Goo, Sang-Eun decides that they should take her case. DAMN. That’s a winning combination if there ever was one. Marriage Not Dating was one of those few romantic comedies that was consistently good and ofc OHYA was a phenomenon.

The nephew insists on divorce and brings Attorney Kwon a list of all their assets. Attorney Kwon realizes that the wife buys all assets, and she makes more money than the husband does. He wonders what the man wants and says he wants the house since they have been married for more than ten years, and he is entitled to the property. Attorney Kwon realizes that the guy has no conscience. In “Sweet 18,” two clans arrange a marriage between their future offsprings in hopes for maintaining good relations. As these two offsprings carry the burden and reputation of their respective clans, they have no choice but to follow their elders’ wishes.

I enjoyed this episode for all the awkward. I think that Se Ah and Yeo Reum are the two that I can’t figure out. I can’t tell if it’s their acting or just how the characters are written.

Lol Cha Seung Won should be the judge. And thank you for calling out GT no being too slow on pushing SA off. All the romcoms ive watched ended up having the cliches by the second half but i still like them. Actually no, i understand her loneliness… They are also colleagues and worked together on volunteer projects.

Where to Watch Marriage, Not Dating

I think she has finally come to terms that she can’t coerce Ki-tae away from Jang-mi but that doesn’t mean that she’s back to being a supportive friend. I can’t count how many times I’ve replayed this episode. I love the honest conversation and all conversation Jang Mi-Gi tae had. They looked so real and it reflected how a normal couple looked like. I do understand her reasons for falling asleep and Ki Tae was more than sympathetic, but I still felt hurt on his behalf. On the park bench, she fell asleep in the middle of his sentence, so niggling at the back of his mind would be he is not interesting enough to keep her awake.

Their sudden change from near-villains trying to break up Ki-tae and Jang-mi, to Se-ah actually helping Ki-tae in business and Yeo-reum giving him relationship advice, is more than a bit strange. It’s really the only weakness I can find in an otherwise solid story, and I find it very jarring that they just went from Bad Guys to Good Guys with no logical transition whatsoever. But Ki-tae is in for more frustration than he bargained for, as they go on a series of dates and Jang-mi falls asleep on him every time.

She sighs that Hyun-hee was right about her being so wrapped up in her wedding that she didn’t have time for her friend, and wonders what the hell she was doing when it wasn’t even a real wedding. Jang-mi finally understands what she meant by “present” earlier, and Yeo-reum has to cover her mouth from yelping out loud. Se-ah grabs Ki-tae for a kiss, and Jang-mi averts her eyes, wondering to herself why she feels this way. Hoon-dong ushers her over and hands her a drink to toast amongst the friends who were left out of the big secret, and Hyun-hee notably doesn’t drink. Rewind to Jang-mi the runaway bride, as she escapes the bridal shopping day from hell and leaves Ki-tae standing in the street calling her name. Jang-mi’s mom gives Se-ah the once-over and asks suspiciously who she is, and Ki-tae’s mom has no qualms about calling her his ex-fiancée.

” It wouldn’t have felt right if it had gone off without a hitch, because their relationship was always full of fights and drama. But the fact that it was a total disaster, but they still came out the other side smiling and loving one another and accepting each other’s faults and all, was just the perfect wedding to top off this show. Just when they thought it couldn’t get any worse, the sky opens up and it starts to pour. All of the wedding guests run for cover, leaving Ki-tae and Jang-mi to stand in the rain at the altar all alone.

But remember that regardless of how Ki Tae treats her, Se Ah will still end up hurt in the long run. As I said, it took for me MONTHS to call out my friends on his crazy antics. And he really said lots of nasty things & destroyed basically all of his friendships. I was the last man standing because he was my friend and I wanted to be loyal and support him. As for HyunHee, well, we really don’t know anything about her or her motivations (seriously I don’t even understand what the point of her character is?) so I can’t say how this will affect her.

During the divorce meeting between Sang-Eun and her husband, he insists that he does not have sexual dysfunction. The Attorney is rude to Attorney Oh and says perverted things to her. On the way back, Ha-Ra turns down Eun-Beom’s dinner invitation since she has plans with Jae-Gyeom. She tries to provoke him by saying that she does not talk much unless she is talking with her body. He ends up getting her worked up and angry. The husband is against the divorce, and after an investigation, Ha-Ra could not find anything to suggest that he was cheating.

Hoon-dong was funny once you get past the first few episodes where he was quite repulsive – and he did get his comeuppance in the shape of his wife . His wife and mother I didn’t much care for. Se-ah and Yeo-rum I cared for even less except for during the beach escapade. I thought at that point they might have an interesting friendship between all of them but after that unfortunately things went back to square one.
